@Mojo Same, and add the phoenix baby to the kill list. Mascot characters rarely add anything to the story and often just detract from it.

I don't care what others say. Mascots like Lao Bai and Phoenix baby are funny to me. Besides, phoenix baby is actually useful. It helped her that one time she was in trouble at the poison place.

Perverted sidekicks are so overdone, though. Like I can do without the sekuhara parts of Lao Bai, it's boring and gross ._.

@Manthika technically they bought a unconscious horse. Also MC pointed out these spirit beasts tend to be intelligent and this group set up an arena to kill them. Buying and taking part in this is exceedingly morally questionable. But the young masters family is at fault for raising him to be spoiled. he never would have accepted giving up the horse even for money and when it became clear he couldnt win, and was kicked away, he still came back.. sure that his family could handle this person and then tried to kill them, but the MC still didnt kill the kid, just made him suffer. Then the father tried to kill the MC without a care of "why" this was happening. The family has highly sketchy morals... so this result isnt so strange.
