16-17 years old is being an adult. Consider the setting, no point comparing to real life.

In a lot of these novels/manhuas, they get married around the age of 14 because that's what they did in ancient China. If you're sensitive to age, stay away from ancient China settings lol... I've learnt to just sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Most of the time.
