It's almost painful to read, because it's so realistic. I don't think we ever fully get over the insecurity of "do they like me too?", but when it's your first love, it's incredibly difficult and scary to confess.

Mom at the start, so sweet. Looks like Ai Mie can get cocoa from his mom, too, now, not just her dad. And the whole ‘seeing you would heal him’ thing. This mom knows her boy there. She overestimates his forwardness, but she knows this much. Because seeing her heals his soul, and seeing him heals her’s.

Also, that beat where his mom must be thinking he’s gone much further than he actually has with Ai handing over the clothes. Damn, his mother really does keep dipping her mind into the gutter.

And then the rest.. well, everybody already kinda covered it.

Ai basically confessing while he‘s asleep, then noticing his own confession notepad, the sharing of insecurities after he wakes, and then the fever-confession stopped short by him barely managing to get enough conscious effort to slap himself. But he really shouldn’t have stopped himself.

His unconscious body falling on her is quite the situation… and that peck on the cheek…

Very unrelated but do not put your charging phone on the futon/ blanket/ mattress. A charging phone can be really hot, if the material of the futon etc not good, it could cause fire or at least break the phone.
