Yeah, no matter how I do it I don't get the 7.53 that the manga or TL seems to expect me to. Like, where did they even get the decimals in that calculation?! :/

Basically, the issue is:

• She is raised to only eat what her mother specified (Not types of food, so if mother specified an apple and mc then found another apple, the second would not be specified and thus off-limits. Much like how dogs are only allowed to eat when owner specifies something is a meal; But even if it were just awkward tl and meant to be "types of food specified as edible and allowed", we still know the scene isn't showing her mother showcasing a human body as a meal there, as they are alone (seen in ch 15)).
• Then she is alone at village, meeting a village girl, who extends a hand in a very much not-pointing fashion (so can't be mistaken with the mothers gesture; besides, if it were mistaken she would have been seen as indicating the ground or the mc herself).
• Then mc eats girl without anyone actively indicating her as food.
• And she gets confused ppl are mad she ate someone not indicated as food, despite "doing as told" (not eating things not indicated by mother as food - so that's a big fat lie since she went against what she had been told and ate something unspecified).
