@ISingTheBodyElectric I'm not counting the 10. I'm counting the 1/1(-239). 240-239=1. The (+10) is irrelevant in this equation. He had 240 MP, and 239 of it was used as the price to cut that guy's HP by the same amount. The (+10) is simply the stockpile that the tag can hold and was only filled with his natural MP regeneration while his MP was at 1 because he didn't have at least 10 MP at the time to fill it immediately like most others could, hence why it took him so long in the first place to fill it enough to where he could even use the tag. But other than this bit of information on why it's there in the first place and why it took so long, the (+10) can be ignored.

So even at level 8 his MP regeneration is only 1 MP/minutes, thats 4 hours to completely regenerate his MP. Seems pretty slow, but i'm guessing having 240 MP at that low level is weird in the first place.

so that's all there was to "tagless" that he wasn't part of the adventure guild? so what, why did everyone freak out so much about it then? the receptionist even freaked out and started sweating at the thought of someone being tagless so why is it such a big deal?

also real disappointed that MC is just an average joe, no high stats, no magical affinity or anything all he has is accursed evil eye which is just a double edged sword that fucks him as badly as it fucks the opponent.

Tagless means you are not part of the system, you dont have to be an adventurer to have a tag.
But you must have a tag to be an adventurer.

He seem to be able to remove somebodys max hp at the cost of his own max mana with a 1:1 trade based on that he have the same minus 239 on his mana as the guy got on his hp.
That could potentially be really strong, even more so in a duel.

Considering he have more mana then hp, that means that if there is no limitations to how much hp the curse can remove he could curse himself to 1 hp.
The growth rate of stats might be diffrent for other people.
But if we take him as a mesuring stick he could be considerd to have the ability to 1 shot anybody on his level in exchange of not being able to use other magics.
The downside of not being able to use magic for the ability to kill anybody on your level or lower is not so bad then.
The only time its not the most broken skill in existence is when he is up against somebody who he cant hurt without magic.

@Goldenzeal Your explanation of his power would make sense, but it's almost totally useless since he curses himself along with his victim. He can't use his eyes against a second person because he hasn't got any mana of his own left anymore! So, he can only curse a single person and that's it. It's nearly a useless skill. If his own mana recovered normally but the target's HP remained reduced permanently (until the curse expired or was somehow cured), then the MC's power would be good.

That is only true as long as his power reduces his maximum mana permanently and not just while the curse is in effect or it can be restored by some means.
In which chase it can´t, then yes you are right it's a garbage power.

But if he CAN regain his own maximum mana by removing the curse he gets from it, or it comes back naturally once his target dies then it is by no means a bad power.
We just have to wait and see when the guy who got cursed comes around looking for blood.
As long there is a reasonable possibility to restore his own maximum mana afterwards, then its still a good "ace in the hole"

@Goldenzeal Yeah. I'd certainly a prefer strong power than comes with a price to an OP skill the MC can spam left and right (which happens in many an isekai). It's just that the MC's mana was still 1 after a very good night's sleep in a soft bed of the inn. So, it didn't recover at all. That seems very suspicious. It's possible he actually needs to finish off the cursed opponent for his power recover, like you said. That wouldn't be a huge weakness if he has what it takes to kill people. Especially after he levels up and gains more max mana, the impact would be so high that the target might drop dead immediately. It would mean he could start recovering right away as well. If he still had mana left, he could target another opponent. However, the obvious weakness would be that he should be extremely careful about targeting an opponent he has slim hopes of killing. It would mean he would be stuck with the negative effect to the maximum amount, for all eternity.
