it always rubbed me the wrong way that they never really investigated why this kid was neglected and abused to the point of being like, almost nonverbal at the start of the comic. i guess it makes sense because japan has a pretty bad child protection system and she wouldve been worse off if they did report it.
im worried now that the mom is gonna try to get her back for some dumb reason, and maybe accuse the family of kidnapping. its not really a comic with plot like that so maybe not but a piece of shit like her is likely to do anything.
Its wild how many people will parrot this without any actual source or proof.

Like its still the 90s, early 2000s Japan.

She should be rotting in jail, abandoning a minor is a crime.

I hope HIS mom goes off on her tho and changes her mind about the violence lol. Would be nice to see her stick up for the girl and show her the "new" family truly cares and her previous treatment wasn't right

Oh so THAT'S how she was found. The initial chapters led me to believe that they knew who the parent was and was neglecting her

Right lol, this is a romcom manga, obviously they're not going to focus on that stuff much, people think too hard about it.

Yeah, that is what I first thought to. And then it clicked on me, that it wasn't mistreatment on Dad's part, but the fact he found her in the state she was in. Mom was expressing her opinion that Dad could have handled it better.

Edit: It also might have been a bit more clear had a "?" been used instead of "..." . Reading it again, as a PR, I would have used a question mark.

She doesn't need the girl back. She can just blackmail the new family, as according to the law, they're in deep s too.
