It's a good twist but won't that just make the rest of this entire series a curb-stomp?

He's one of only nine people in the entire world that has transcended humanity, and on top of that, he has gamer skills that made these high-level ladies believe that he'd be useful even without any powers.

If the gamer skills are even half as useful as the girls thought they'd be, he should be invincible.

I guess an alternative takeaway is that he actually doesn't have the remarkable gamer skills he claims to. If he can use his power to react faster, slow time, what have you, then gaming becomes easy. That would probably ruin his character, though, to be all power and no strategy/tactics.
