yeh in that moment i thought she was going to make Kane an earl lmao. I'm glad it went to Randal instead. Well done handling of that situation without pushing Kane to play that humble role again and deny the position.

She’s been like that from the start, hasn’t she? Her party’s reason to exist was so she could enjoy the company of powerful, beautiful women.

Edit: that said, rather than see it as romantic advances, the other two seem to treat it as skinship between friends. They don’t seem particularly bothered or equally affectionate.

@AMicrowave
I’ve got high hopes for her, since the hero party is largely disappointing, excluding Maya, who’s grown, or started to show she’s rather understanding or perceptive... Despite her not being in the race.

Wait is the Princess actually a yandere? She is pretty quick tempered about anything relating to Kane and loves to threaten people to get her way (usually also relating to Kane). Anyway, I love how Kane is just silently building an army. By the end of this series he could easily take over the continent without lifting a finger.

That last panel is exactly how I thought it would go, but I guess that would be too “dark” for the princess character (and maybe hard to write an adventurer being an Earl due to the whole ruling an earldom)

@spathi @WillTell Remember that the little girl wasn't really specifically an evil god, she was just a "nameless" wish-granting deity that got treated as an evil god because she answered all wishes (including bad ones) and eventually got corrupted. So there's a bunch of gods out there, and probably just as many bad ones, and the demon king is probably trying to resurrect a more important bigwig "evil god" than her.

I have to agree with the Princess here. If the glasses demon wouldn't give information and would only become risk, then off with his head. More peace and quiet in the future isn't a bad thing.

Ojou-chan is on the right. You DON'T deal with criminals, no matter what. Also, I think just stripping the Earl from its title/position was fair game (this is actus reus/mens rea all over again). Miss me with giving his kid the position. Think it should be earned not given.

Nobility that's basically a birthright. Honestly stripping the position and giving it t ok the heir and having the old noble be the kids councilor is a slap on the wrist. Basically not even a punishment lol

@Darkmeep Isn't him the lord of the city? I was trying to say, his son shouldn't just be the lord of the city yet. They should assign someone else while he completes its training(?) that's to avoid bad/wrong decisions from the very beginning or at least, make that someone else (other than the dad since he did mess up with the demon big time) oversees him until then. Basically, my concern is that he's quite inexperienced in such important position and he may fuck up big time (having the dad there doesn't help since he's young and he may influence him the wrong way without meaning it.).

I definitely agree with you, but I think in the context of the story and the kind of governing system it uses, this is for the best. There’s no guarantee that whoever is “qualified” to govern the area maintains the status quo that has been created. Specifically, the local laws that seem to be against racial discrimination against the demihumans... since the one that made those laws seems to be the odd one out. His wife had to leave him so he could keep his position or connections or whatever.

Kid’s terribly unprepared for this job, but on an emotional and ethical level, he’ll have his father there to teach him. Additionally, to my understanding, it’s actually somewhat common for a minor noble’s house head to be replaced by an teenage heir, or alternatively, a close relative, which he probably doesn’t have, or doesn’t share the father’s inclinations.
