Personally I am super proud the author dodged this trope. Then quickly proceeded into MC's Magic Bag trope which is a perfectly acceptable wuxia staple.

I am beginning to wish he could ditch the two idiots in his party that keep trying to totally shout out secrets in front of the enemy. How the hell is he supposed to make moves with these god damn morons.

Edit. I just started working my way through this one and dropped a nice comment trail on the chapters as I go. Keeps me entertained. Like yelling at the movie screen.
