you go girl, glad you had that closure and prolly deserved better.

edit: and aint no way people are blaming Aya for putting herself in that position lmfao. she did waaaaay too much effort into letting her feelings get across Mitsuki and even getting Narita involved, and now its Mitsuki's turn to realize that and reciprocate. Aya is still a teen and a girl and just because shes attracted to the same sex is she should do all the things who's gonna make it work. If ever she confesses straight up that just defeats her purpose and makes Mitsuki think "oh i should just return her feelings" type of thing.

its baffling that many are pointing at Kanna and Aya in this situation where they were the only ones rowing the boat. whereas these two blood-related uncle-niece arent even doing anything and just being insensitive.

mad respect for Kanna for coming back and swallowing her pride and trying again. seeing her with the un-named dude wearing glasses in the 3rd panel, hope it goes well for her.

most readers are still stuck with "Joe had to do the unc thing" Kanna went away and pursued her dreams, waited years til Mitsuki is fit and Joe doesnt have that heavy responsibility compared then.

just no way someone said Kanna and Aya are expecting a lot from Joe and Mitsuki to be the "drivers in their relationship".

I was feeling some sympathy for Kanna, but only because I couldn't remember why they broke up. Went back and re-read the flashback chapter about it, and it's because Joe decided to stay in Japan for Mitsuki rather than go to America with Kanna. And I have to say he was 100% right to make that call, especially since it doesn't seem like Mitsuki has any other family.

Kanna walked out on them to do her own thing, then walks back in years later, starts acting like family, and then gets angry at Joe for being happy she's acting like family? I'm not unsympathetic to her, but I think she's in the wrong here.

I also feel like there's a lot of expectation on both Joe and Mitsuki to be the drivers in the relationship. Kanna's previous advice to Aya about not sitting around waiting for someone is fine, but also Aya hasn't told Mitsuki she has a romantic interest in her. It's not good to just pine for someone and then get upset when they don't get it and act first. People aren't mind readers. If you like someone, tell them. If you're unhappy about something, speak up. Don't just pretend everything is cool while acting passive aggressive to them or suddenly blowing up at them.

If I remember correctly, didn't one of the flash forwards bonus art show Aya and Mitsuki living together in the future?

My guess of what will happen is that Joe will finally get together with Kanna, and go with her to US.

After some teary farewell from Mitsuki, wishing to free him from a life of being her step-dad without a life of his own.

Then she will move in with Aya.

That is of course assuming those bonus art where canon.
Don't quote me on this, but I felt like that was more like a bonus image and not flash forward?

What the fuck are these comments? Kanna could've chosen to stay and be family instead of moving away for her dreams, no? How is this all solely Joe's fault? If someone told me to abandon a young family member that only had me to rely on to go chase some dream in a foreign country I wouldn't have done it either. No one is making her pretend to be anything, she decided to suddenly come back and be part of their lives again and Joe is just getting to live a dream that never happened because he had other priorities.

Yeah as I thought, she really did take the advice she gave to Aya seriously. She's also been hanging on to something, like Aya and now she's going to try living for herself instead of making decisions based around someone who doesn't seem to see her in a romantic light, someone who seems comfortable with the status quo.

A lot of parallels to Aya and Mitsuki. We'll see if the outcomes are parallel too (I doubt it). Joe still has a chance to do something here though, but does he want to? Does Mitsuki want to either? We still don't have a clear understanding of how she feels about Aya, same with Joe and his feelings for Kanna. Both of their "friends" are about to start moving on.

She could, but it would have been unfair to her. She had her own ambitions. I don't see why she should have given up on them.

To note, their break up was a mutual agreement. There's no real bad blood between them. But it's obviously a bitter memory for her, because he somewhat led her on to finally chicken out. She loved him and thought they would build something together, but life didn't let them.

I wouldn't say it's Joe's fault either, because he had to take care of Mitsuki (for yet unexplained reasons). That's just life.

But in the present time, Kanna came back temporarily and Joe kind of took her for granted, conveniently forgetting that she had to go back eventually and had a life over there, that he's not part of.

Maybe she even has a man there (seeing that panel where she's talking with a man with glasses who looks at her gently).

So, as she says, it's too late. She needs to leave, because the longer she stays, the more they look away from reality, the more painful it becomes.

It’s his fault because he’s the man. And even mentioning that kind of comment will make people so angry.
