Man, as much as I love these two, their taste in bands kills me everytime, but only because the story is written like it's this super underground mega cool stuff and then it's fucking Oasis or Coldplay of all things lmao. Bless them.

As someone who graduated in 2000, their taste is so lame.
People can like what they like, but these are NOT cool bands.

I like Phil Collins. He's SUPER uncool.

I'd be more worried it Mutsuki had given Aya a ring and they suddenly stopped showing her wearing it. As it is, I'm more inclined to put this up to the authors occasionally rough storytelling skills.

Still, with how long it took us to get to the actual yuri, it would certainly be an unnecessary level of drama to drop now, least of all with no explanation as to when and why they suddenly have broken up.

"Way too much silly drama for far too long."

Oh, I agree there. Though I don't necessarily blame the author for it. I've dropped so many yuri manga for having to constantly shoehorn in drama is actually disgusting. Between that and the Girls Love tag being filled with yuri bait (Still pissed at 'Budokan') or more toxic relationship entries (Citrus, NTR, Happy Sugar Life), it can be an actual nightmare finding good wholesome yuri sometimes. Thankfully there's always Kase-san to fall back on. Though even that author likes occasionally slipping in unnecessary levels of heavy drama.
I recently dropped Kase-san. They keep getting stupider and less mature.

Still Sick is decent Office Life drama. I mean, that's the genre. It's not unnecessary drama, it's just grown up stuff. The problem is the scanlation is a clout scam. They didn't translate anything. They just made it all up. I've read the Japanese. They made all of it up.

Donuts under a crescent moon. That artist's whole catalogue slaps.

Ikemen Sugi desu, Shiki-senpai.
Cute. Gay. Like the art.

Yuri is kinda stagnating. BL started to get really good around 10 years ago, with Korea and a new wave of Japanese artists leading the charge. It also has the sewer that is omega verse to shunt off all the grape and bad anatomy.

Korean GL is pretty solid, but the thing with Korean media is that it could take a left turn into terror and psychosis at any moment...

Western queer comics are often pretty good, but you have to sift through stuff that's way too sleazy, an unintentional parody of Tumblr, or absolute angst.
What's left will probably involve magic and have a really quirky tertiary character that comes in and wigs out and says obvious things.

Tell me about it. Especially in the area of (legal) age gap yuri.

I think the big problem with western is they mistake yuri for smut.

The way I see it:

Girls Love: Hey bestie. Might have some fanservice that vaguely implies romantic attraction (a kiss on the cheek, but not the lips).

Yuri: The MCs are physically attracted to eachother plain and simple. Kissing, clothed make-outs propable. Actual sex is by no means mandatory, but if done it is done so tastefully (how Kase handles sex scenes, with convenient censoring). This goes back to the very meaning of yuri (lily), the lily being a symbol of purity (something smut isn't).

Smut: Graphic nudity and sex. Your not reading it for the romance.

I get what you're saying, but I recommend using the standard definitions
