If you know Turkish, let's talk Turkish.
I don't of course. But how "Konuşamadılar" (which apparently means "they could not speak" in Turkish) is even remotely connected to the original is beyond me. For me, it means you rewrote the story. While it's true that the uncle and Kanna "could not speak", the actual sentence from Sumiko intended to be humorous. Yours is just stating the obvious.

I don't particularly care about other languages translations of course, so you do what you want, but I do think inventing stuff the author never put in there is bad form for a translator and you're doing a disservice to your readers.

I translated it that way because Sumiko intended to be humorus. Let me, as the translator, decide which say is funny in my native language.

Google translate doesn't give the correct option iykyk but what you tryna say is not bothering in my language. Turkish natives get the point without any misunderstandings so you don't have to bother.

Bu sitede ilk yorumlar size aitti ve serinin İngilizce çevirmeninin yorumundan sonra sorma ihtiyacı hissettim. Çeviri sizi rahatsız mı ediyor?
Diğer adamın yorumundan dolayı negatif yorum yaptığımı sandınız. Güzel bir sondu. Hoşuma gitti.
