Go back and check the end of last chapter. Rebecca gets flipped because she wants Aldy to herself, and Deborah promises to help clear his name (presumably by dragging Abby into the conflict, probably with assurances that it'll mount to little more than scandal to drag Abby's power down a bit).

Deborah is, of course, lying through her teeth.

Even Enrique the prince is showing positive signs. This plot is pretty shit, given how much of a good drama this manga has been.

But again, at the end of the day, we're all human. We are bound to have moments of weakness (especially for exploitations and plot development 🥲).
