I find it refreshing tbh, considering most of the time women tend to get shafted in many manga, being just damsels in distress or totally irrelevant.
Can the author stop adding hot evil ladies into the story? Like, there are so many good designs in this story it's unbelievable. I'm excited for the anime adaptation, but I feel it won't do the manga justice because of how good the style of this manga is.
Also, they had us in the first half, not gonna lie.
Thanks for the TL as always!
Randolph is highly competent. But, he's called the guard dog for a reason. He'll sniff out clues with his incredibly sharp instincts, but he's not the leading type. Considering his last name's Ulster, I would not be surprised if his title in-universe is "Hound of Ulster."
Aldous is also highly competent, but he's similarly a follower but of Abigail.
However, men still rule the actual countries.
It's a metaphor for this chapter: just because you sit on the chair doesn't mean you have the capability or actually hold the reins of power.
The manga is superior to the novel, which is still very good but lacks the depth of facial expressions and framing only possible in a visual medium, so I doubt the anime will be as good. It's very rare for an adaptation to be better than the source material, so to be an even more superior adaptation would be even more difficult.
