Scarlet's father and the king basically killed Scarlet because it was the easy way out to prevent changing the status quo with foreign countries planning to invade them.

And, for 10 years King and Scarlet's gather didn't do shit all to prepare for the future in case their enemies try it again.

And guess what?
The enemy did TRY AGAIN.

Connie realizes this and once again King and Scarlet's father have the big idea of executing Connie by framing her of lesse majeste to another country's royal bloody, repeating what they did 10 years ago with Scarlet.

10 years afterwards and shit got worse with the country becoming more and more corrupt as the perpetrators of cheered that they saved the country insert SpongeBob after saving the city while it burns down

This country is fucked up, useless royals, drug addicts nobles, corruption, etc and the very moment two outstanding individuales like Lily and Scarlet show up with great capabilities to lead the country they get offed "for the sake of the country" which atm sounds like a BS excuse to avoid losing their power to more competent people.

Behold the biggest coward of the series, it was Scarlet's mom the one with the pants in the relationship btw.

meant that father was the coward, and that mom was the one with the pants, meaning the "manly" one (pants not skirt), here in the meaning of "manly" as "courageous".
In other words, that poster didn't mean it was mother's fault, but father, the sentence was just bit unclear if you weren't reading carefully.
