It's not uncommon for mangaka to have weird takes (they're primarily characterized by their ability to be shut-ins who do nothing but draw) but I don't see it here. If anything it's a reflection of Japan's mildly weird vending machine culture.

this is honestly the worst scary story so far lol. Why not make another vending machine and put it in another hard-to-reach place? Also, do souls really need to be refrigerated? The logic of this is so bad I can't even feel sad or scared lol.
