TBH she is not that much of a psychopath as compared to other Idatens. She doesn't see humans or demons as the same species as her, and consider them animals, one as cattles, and the other as harmful predators. Her nature is that she believes in pure power and always consider the most straight forward solution to a problem. A musclehead. It is just that, as humans, she seems like a psychopath to us when she just doesn't care about sacrificing a few cattles to wipe out the predators.

Oh and before you go into the "but humans feel bad for pigs and cows too" I will change humans into farm crops if you find that more suitable lol. All other idatens have communicated with humans, but their mindsets on humans remain unchanged, so I think it is just something in their nature instead of a simple thing that a communication will fix.

Idatens fundamentally are not human. Kinda like how demons in Frieren aren't human, so judging them based on human ideals leads to most of them being straight up psycopaths.

Although Idaten are purpose-built and given form based on a single organism when alot of organisms want to be saved. (described in chapter 41). So there is nothing preventing an Idaten from coming into being whose nature is that they love and truly understand humans.

Also as shown by Rin herself, Idaten can grow and change mentalities. The reason their mindsets are generally human apathetic is due to their contact with Isli and Rin who are both at best human-apathetic. Idaten teaching other Idaten how to treat humans. Prontea himself acts the most like a normal human and that is most likely due to him immersing himself in human culure and not spending as much time with other Idaten, so communication probably would change them at least some over a long enough time.

Sorry late reply but I only realized it now that you mentioned Prontea. About Prontea, I think it is more like he likes human culture. What I want to talk about is actual empathy for the humans, which I am pretty sure Prontea-san doesn't have that either. He is not as smart as Isley, but he still operates on the same level of logic as Isley does. Gil is the only one different because she actually had empathy properly programmed into her. And god knows if that empathy is real or it is just a mission which she might carry out logically like the rest of her fellow idatens. We have yet to see any actual emotion that she might have, she is probably not the same person as her human model who has a bleeding heart for everyone.

Idaten might understand humans, and they can probably talk to humans the way a human want another fellow human with empathy talk to them, but they are devoid of that empathy. Rin is the only one with actual emotion now that I think about it.
