I thought the "God" protects the village with its existence alone, by simply living in the same forest. What are the implications if it leaves? and why are they ok with this? huh?!
Well, by the same logic, who are they to deny the will of said God if it wants to follow him?
They also believed the God was responsible for a curse, as well.
This story/plot is giving me weird vibes.
First of all, the summary of the manga is "Realistic take on a modern doctor in another world treating fantasy creatures without magic or modern equipment"
Yet he very quickly pulls out numerous modern equipment from his bag. Sure, it's not exactly an MRI machine, but the medicine in the bottles and all of the tools are still modern equipment.
Then the antagonist are just cartoon villains at this point. Monopolizing the technology of healing magic? While they claim it's faith, so does it seem more like a branch of magic based on how one of those guys were afraid the elves might 'steal the healing methods.'
The concept of monopolizing healing magic is obviously going to have huge effects. They need to have strict control over every healer so they don't go rogue and start teaching healing magic left and right or spreading the fact that it's all of a conspiracy, so the numbers of healers must be very low, meaning they have no way of healing everyone that needs it, not even close. Furthermore, every single future healer has to both be strictly controlled as well as be brainwashed into their thinking, since many a doctor is going to question the morality of intentionally limiting healing for the sake of power and wealth, as opposed to simply helping those that needs it.
I could go on and on...
it is at least interesting so I'll keep going.
