Badly written moment. Mangaka must have forgotten that he drew the MC having memory erasing powers. And control of it to such an extent that he can erase the actual memories, but not the fear that they cause.

There was absolutely no need to hold back once they were isolated inside that classroom. I hope the mangaka doesn't keep creating trashy dilemmas to create unnecessary hero moments.
