That's why he said "more than friends and less than lovers" he pretty much refused to be her lover until he sorts out his own feelings which is pretty much mature given today's current MC's who get awkward or confused

The blonde loli turns out to be a little girl that the mc saved when he was the hero in the other world, she died because he couldn't protect her, she straight up tells him so in one chapter and the then a skill activates called something stupid like "Harem protagonist correction" and makes it so he cannot physically hear what she tells him. It happens multiple times and the writer tries to play it off as a tongue in cheek "lol harem anime does this so we'll do it but it's ironic" except it's not, and it becomes super annoying. That is the biggest most blatant trope but there are more that pervade this story through out but I read this months ago and can't remember full specifics.

For those that think the MC is an idiot, the manga is SERIOUSLY toning down Abeno's crazy. Like, from an 8 to a 4.
She starts demonstrating traits that might make her worth it later, but at this point? MC is still in 'heck no' mode when it comes to her. He had suicidal urges like those removed none to gently in the other world.
