With the art style having been changed, I don't recognize any of the women he reminisces about at first glance. At least their hair coior is almost the same.

That's pretty much what he's been doing and why it happened? Not on purpose, but still it's a pretty accurate assessment. Whatever the case is there and with her motives, takes a special kind of crazy to work in a brothel and poison patrons. Just bad for business, y'know?
