Also, why on earth is the MC so weak and acting like a child. What happen to the cocky, but level head, powerful magician? He is acting like other MCs that are summoned and given a magic, not someone who been using magic most of his life.

Basically he couldn't kill the demon general Raja because he didn't use this world's magic. This world's magic although far behind from the earth's witchcraft had blessing from the Goddess that was needed to kill the demons who had blessing from the evil God. He was expecting that he could defeat Raja using his usual spells as he usually only needed to use those, but because of the rules of this world from the piece of shit goddess (you will know why I call her piece of shit later), his usual spells couldn't work. In the end, Suimei needed to use one of his highest spells to defeat Raja though he barely survived from that and later he would be killed by the hero Yuuji.

sorry, I was still thinking of the first weakling demon he was trying to fight before it tried to nuke the area and he had to finish it off, since that was when he was using fireballs and such and also when everyone was more or less holding their own. As the others said, on the demon general, he tried everything you suggested and it just didn't work. So he was experimenting when it was manageable on weaker demons and switched to trying out whatever might work when things got serious.

edit: also, when did anyone get killed? They were able to manage the regular demons for the most part.

@jokerxhisoka he alrdy did with that kick that even shattered part of the ground and the demon still got out unscathed which means it is also no use, idk if you're talking about levitating an extremely giant boulder on top of the demon and then release the magic to avoid it become a magic-based attack. is not so good of a plan tho.

@darkdrake he will incorporate that blessing to his magic eventually, just not anytime sooner

@Regalia13 @Meridis @aretheus I don't think he did exactly what I said, I was thinking about something like a sharp and big boulder so fast that would drill a mountain, not just a kick that would make a crater or something like 10 times the gravity. Hell, he could just make the gravity repel them instead and send the demons to space.

@jokerxhisoka Nothing has suggested that he has the ability to accelerate physical objects in a targetted direction. Also, no "gravity" power in any series has ever depicted someone being blown into outer space by anti-gravity. That's like, Touhou level of overpowered.

Now, even if we were to say that Suimei could do these things, I still don't think they would work. This is divine intervention we're talking about here. Surely, the demon can mitigate all physical damage such as rocks. And I'm sure if anti-gravity magic were used on him, the blessing would just increase his effective mass so that his perceived mass is mostly unchanged.

I find it incredibly frustrating that manga readers are so obsessed with characters being op and destroying everything in one hit. Suimei realizing that he has things in this world that he doesn't understand and has to adapt to is already 10x better than most isekai manga out there.

Those are extensions of what he did do though. It would be the same as with the first demon where a regular fireball didn't work so he has to push to the extremes to get the magical force that would make it through whatever bs defense they have. Which seems like what he was about to due with the magical furnace thing before the fight ended.

Either way, the end result is that everything he does with his magic, including hitting him with physical force or manipulating gravity to affect them, is being weakened by some kind of magic dampener by the demons and he needs to figure out how that works and how this worlds magic is able to bypass it or hes going to struggle as much with them as a mob character would. He isn't doing anything strange. Figuring that out is his number one priority right now, as long as nothing happens to wifu. He pretty much did everything you asked for. He just tested them out before he did it in a way that would require him to sacrifice another crystal or use his magic furnace. The end result was just that these things were in no way more effective than just throwing fireballs at the demons. That, until he figures out their weakness, ANY attack he does would take everything he has just to do any damage to them.
