At this grade its like watching a movie reel.

Whats the point of showing scenes if you skip why do those scenes matter.

I'm a bit mixed. On the one hand, this does go against the entire premise of the plot. On the other, so much was working against him, even the system, that dude deserves to have at least one ally. Could've been executed better, but he did suffer a permanent penalty for it so I don't think the story is ruined. Not yet

I'm seeing a lot of posts in this comment section about why the system isn't activating even though Kania found out, but it already activated and penalized the MC in the previous chapter?

I've read the novels, so maybe I just already know something that wasn't explained in this webtoon, but haven't realized it?
Most of us assumed that the system punishment activated for each individual DEED discovered. Now it's been revealed to be punishment for each person who discovers who he is and thus way less punishing and sucks out most of the tension. Maybe the novel made that clear from the outset 🤷‍♂️

Not just this.
She didn't even get to have much time to muse much over his conflicting actions and her resulting view of him.
Should she consider that maybe he isn't all that bad? Can she find it within herself to accept it?

No, instead of an internal moral conflict spread out a bit, the whole things is resolved and handed to her on a silver platter.

I was really onboard with the pacing of this until this point.
Hard agree, its stuff like this that make me actively consider just reading the novel instead considering how much stuff is claimed to be left out according to novel readers…

Oh and one more thing, to any novel readers, does this scene play out the nearly the same way? Or is there genuine conflict regarding how she feels, whether she should forgive and forget, etc

Yes and no. The scene in the novel is longer with more depth and we actually learn a bit more about Frey (there's also another scene that she sees from the cat PoV that makes her suspect about him before actually confronting him, that was completely removed from the manhwa which kinda suck because it was probably the best scene up to that point).
However, she does accept him as easily, there's technically an explanation for that but involves big spoilers.

The webtoon translations here uses "When your good deeds are discovered," but the novel translations uses "Every time you're exposed as a 'False Evil'," which could still be interpreted the same way I guess.

If it was actually triggered on each good deed discovered, Frey would have just died in this chapter after getting hit by over a dozen penalties.

i felt like kania knowing it first would totally worth the cost because she's the closest to him, although i don't really like the way the execute on how she found out.

Like I said in the previous chaps... Why did the system not activate... Considering now Kania fully knows that he is good? And it's not like rezero he can't tell anyone...

Or is it like you can tell people but it would cost you your life bit by bit. You wouldn't instantly die but it's painful AF.

Now it's getting weird..but hey at least we know now that It can be circumvented..
The system just punish you one time each person
But everyone cut in a half frey life
So that moment frey got like 50x years
So now got 20x or 30x

Maybe it's different in the novels, but this setup/payoff was super contrived and unearned. Was I supposed to feel something while reading this

NAW GOD FUCKIN DAMNIT it would've been more interesting that she just couldn't tell him she knows or something, I'd be honest. I don't know if I should continue now...

I figured to spare the reader from scenes they already know? It’s not hard to infer that she’s going through them the same way we did. Reacting to everything would destroy the pacing.

That aside, it feels pretty obvious that all the heroines will figure this out eventually, and it will handicap him at the worst time.
