I still find the 180 the coworkers did rather jarring.

First they were depicted as rude, gossiping people that you want nothing to do with, now they're all friendly and actual sugar chasers as though they're all best buds.

In the early chapters they call her arrogant and nit-picky, but in ch.38 they realize that she's been much nicer since The New Guy showed up. They want to keep her that way.
