The parents carry this manga, really. Also, I love how weird the relationship between Anoth and his new parents is, but also how much love is surprisingly there? Like, he's essentially a grown man moving in with this couple so there is no reason for him to actually have attachments to them. Yet, he clearly does. Like, the romantic interests are surprised to see him genuinely smile, but the first thing he does when he gets home is genuinely smiling at his mother's worry and affections?

At the same time, I question their ability to raise a normal child based on how swiftly they roll with Anoth's absurdity.

It's like it's written by someone who is trying to make fun of the genre, but also really, really sucks at satire. The parents are the only 'yes this is stupid' release valve the series gets.
