I think the story will be more interesting if it turns out the Duchess IS Wrong and the Ghost Kids do 100% want revenge. It could be an actual source of internal conflict for MC. So technically what will be most interesting is just making sure the Ghost Kids want the opposite of what Leslie winds up wanting. So if she decides to forgive, they should want revenge, if she decides on revenge, they should probably just want to have their spirits set free or something like that.
