@MCX01 How are her motives hard to read? The Salvatore's are too powerful, so she wants them weakened and slowed so they don't eclipse everyone else. The idiot was simply the best tool for the job, though she overestimated him. Leslie is a valuable piece, shown by how she is being treated by such powerful families. She is doing the best for herself and likely too her people who are better off with her in power than not. She obviously doesn't want anyone to know btw, so she puts on faces. Don't let someone your about to stab in the back turn around.

Its all just basic politics with perhaps some backstory thrown in further down the line to make things a little more personal.
