@xxxNothingxxx if I remember correct, somewhere in the past, the knowledge was twisted, they think blond hair/green eyes means the power of darkness (Eli has a bit) and to truly awaken them, they need the sacrifice of a silver haired one - the truth is, that the silver haired ones are the true wielders of darkness, but because they were always sacrificed as young children, they have never awoken, probably somewhere in the past was a case of severe jealousy of a way more gifted sibling and the use of a forbidden magic in a try to obtain it, with not zero but a little effect, and said villain experimented more, with another sibling, or his children, who knows, and over time the lie won over the truth, the family was twisted to the core, but since everything was a lie, only few magicians existed in the first place and they were quite weak, so power and influence dwindled over time - I don't know for sure, it's just my imagination based on some clues in the first chapters
