Dude I totally forgot about the contract too lol Well, I feel like it's really not needed anymore. She really is a Salvatore to them.

Her uncle's letter is making me cry. I hope he doesn't suffer anymore and I kinda hope she'll visit or write to him from time to time. But his letter makes me a little worried, I mean the writer wouldn't have put that detail in there if it wasn't going to get used.

But hopefully we can get some wholesome family content before anything bad happens.

The uncle is arguably the bravest and kindest man in this whole novel. The Salvatores are definitely kind, but they have the power to back them up/shield them from repercussions. That uncle had literally nothing to protect him, and literally no one could have blamed him if he didn't testify.

I demand a good ending for that uncle.

Ditto...It feels like the story is nearing its end, with the whole family-fiasco thing behind the MC -- but with that one letter, it looks like it'll come tumbling down all over again.
If that'd actually happen, from this POV, it just feels like the author is trying to stall the story's ending. Truly not excited for it.

P.S: I thought that a nobel-trial means that the loser is socially and utterly destroyed? Why does it seem like that the original family didn't suffer anything?
(We haven't seen much, but the author also didn't make a point to show how significantly their status has dropped...Huh?)

Don't forget that the Queen Dowager, her Maid, and the Priest guy are still villains in this (Not to mention any hidden villains they are working with/for), so there is still room for a lot more to read.
Also the trial may have ruined them socially, but financially and with pedigree they are still fine.
Even if it ruins those too, It wouldn't happen right away.
At the current part of the story It's only been like a day or two since the trial, so not a lot of time for anything to happen.

It doesn't really feel like the story is ending to me, more like we're past the tutorial level and now heading into the real story. Afterall, the Sperados haven't been truly ruined yet, and there are still unanswered questions about what exactly the various players like the Queen Dowager are up to and what their long-term game plan is. Honestly, it just feels like the story has only laid down the foundations for the true story ahead.

Leslie has accomplished her goal of getting away from the Sperados, but she hasn't truly destroyed them which is her main objective, and that's one she'll have to work for using her new family's support.

Welp. By "stalling the ending", I meant that as long as we're not explicitly told: "The former-family is not as much of a threat anymore", the author can literally do anything with them. Which keeps us within the same arc of "escaping the family".
But -- yes, it's likely that within the next few chapters, the author will explain what does the new family has in store for the MC, why they took her in to begin with, and why the empress herself also needs a "daughter".
I just don't buy that the family will bugger off from the story, and allow it to advance forward to a larger stage. The Koreans love their drama almost like the Chinese.

The uncle is so nice my heart TT I'm so glad that he was willing to testify. Thank goodness, i hope he will be happy too. And i hope the uncle and leslie will still keep being in contact even through a letter
