Thanks for the chapter! I’m also curious what sparked the fight. Next chapter will be illuminating
That's exactly it, isn't it? Saki knows. None of her hesitation has been related to Kanon's disability, every moment of her romantic fear has been graphically displayed as a flashback to her own past, which was in no way alluded to till it came out of left field as soon as the manga reached a romantic tone. It's not as though it isn't a realistic possibility, it's that rather than exploring the theme of the setting or even utilizing both main characters, the story is being dragged through the mud of the "oh no I'm gay" trope which was pulled out of the magician's hat as a matter of convenient conflict, discounting the value of Kanon as a character. Above all, it feels forced and completely inorganic.I thinks this route is fairly realistic. How is anyone but the MC supposed to know that its just feelings of love and not something like Ayano's situation. How can the people closest to Kanon react any differently. Ayano is clearly someone important to Kanons past. How could they gloss over that? Past deeply rooted trauma just to get to the happy fluffy time you seem to want? And stereotypical immaturity? They are TEENAGERS who are each dealing with some shit. How else are they going to act?
This is absolutely wrong. Saki's character was always aware of her own sexuality. The issue here is that she feels guilty about her feelings. It wasn't out of nowhere because since the beginning, for example, it was all but stated that she liked her former teacher more than she ever cared about the piano. Saki feels her position as Kanon's BFF is not really true because she's in love with her. Which is silly, but that's teenagers for you.the story is being dragged through the mud of the "oh no I'm gay" trope
I'll actually say that I feel like Kanon's deafness kind of feels half-assed at times in. There's way too many loopholes inserted into the story (she can hear fine enough out of her right ear, she can read lips perfectly, she has this special room built for her that amplifies all the noise) that basically mean all of her interactions with everyone are normal 99% of the time except for the 1% of the where her being deaf is needed to set up a plot point, then the loophole is closed for a few minutes until the plot point/drama has been set up and it can be safely reopened.A story surrounding a deaf character needs to have focus on the struggles experienced by people who live or spend time with people with disabilities.
What? This conversation was so annoying. Kanon did literally nothing, they did it all by themselves and now are imposing the blame on her like wth dude. Honestly this all seems so ableist. Kanon is working hard to live with her condition and be the most independent possible.
What an annoying chapter and annoying feelings they're talking about.
I understand that's the point tho. Still annoying.
