It would have been a bit better if Noel was just wrong. But that is me hating his omniscient mind, that makes the story abit stale and predictable to his favor and predictions.
It's pretty obvious Noel is based off of characters like Lelouche and Sherlock Holmes that are geniuses not because the author is clever enough to make a difficult problem and solve it reasonably but by simply having them predict the outcome and chalk it up to their intelligence.

That's not necessarily a bad thing if you have other elements to their characters or to the story that makes it interesting, like how Lelouche had conflicting motivations that made him both heroic and villainous in both his actions and his methods that finally cultivated in his final plan, but Noel's whole character is centered around his one track mind to become the best seeker by leading the strongest organization. He has similar contradictory elements of being kind at times and cruel at others, but there's not much to look forward to when it's not treated as a flaw that he needs to overcome but an asset that makes him suited to lead.

Put frankly, Noel is a boring character because it feels like all of his growth was done offscreen before chapter 1, and we only get to see glimpses of it in flashbacks. I'm not too bothered by it tho because I'm not here for Noel, I'm here for all the other characters he recruits, all of their character arcs have been far more interesting.

noel was wrong in a sense. He figured she’d just win but clearly didn’t realize she’d need or be willing to use sacrifice like this

Jaki is certainly intelligent enough to make Noel's solutions reasonable, and in fact essentially optimal, to situations which are exceedingly difficult. Noel's predictions are incredible, and it all comes together in a beautiful way through the coming arcs, weaving together layers of resources which are all tracked perfectly.

Now I'm left wondering about what price she paid for such a potent boost! Doesn't sound like it'll be cheap!

Thanks for the translations!

I wish it was done well. I am reminded in the early days of Detective Conan. When they would actually show you how Shinichi comes up with his deduction. And that really makes the world of difference for the readers. Noel just says shit and it happens. Like that one episode of fairy odd parents.

While I see your point. It just shows that he knew she would win but not how exactly. But I suppose the author spared us Noel telling people that it is not over yet. And have telling them that he can be wrong is fine. Just does not make any sense for him to even make such call. He is still young and such calls and stands should have been done by battle hardened vet. Not thanks to Brain predicting the future based on what he learned about seekers.
Humans should not been part of his ability to predict as they supposed to have been unpredictable unlike the monsters that they fight.
That would have allowed the story to be more interesting and less predictable as humans are the one thing that is not given thanks to his perk.
