No, this chapter has been out for at least 3 months now, so no hiatus and no sniping. I'd normally appreciate someone picking this up, but this translation isn't really much better than raw MTL.

For MD the standard is that after 3 months, it’s fair game. Tho that also sometimes depend on the group as some groups (eg: Asura Scans) don’t have a dedicated uploader that uploads every new ch, but gets a bulk-upload like 5 months later when an uploader remembers lol

Asura locked their group and does this deliberately to drive traffic to their site, and it's been over 2 years since their last update. Infernal Void isn't locked, they just haven't put out a new chapter since the one I uploaded back in December.

Also, MD doesn't have any standard regarding sniping. The 3-month thing is just self-imposed community courtesy that predates MD and is frequently ignored.

There was an attempt. I've seen worse, but this is still salvageable with a bit more editing.

I'm currently reading another series with a worse translation and zero QCing to the point where stuff is missing and mixed up or not even in the right word balloons and get this: the translator and cleaner and QCer for it are all being paid for it, it's all paid positions.

It's not they forgot, they purposely hold the traductions to incite people to give money to the group (because the official reason is : "we don't have enough money"). And when someone think "it's been 5 months with nothing, I'll translate it" they suddenly release multiple chapters to makes the new translator leave and cry about sniping..

It's not forgetting, it's being scummy.

If a group doesn't release new chapters for a long time there is no "sniping". I don't understand why someone think that because someone translated some chapters they now have ownership of it for the years to come even if they stop translating it.

I say “remember” because the one uploading ch of those groups are usually one of the power uploaders (or electro) who aren’t affiliated with the group, and by the time they upload those chs, there’s usually like a buttload more to be uploaded because i saw them at aggs (especially, as noted, Asura and Flame scans stuff, because i only remember those groups now)
