i dont know how you can describe a series that opens with the MC being raped, humiliated, and tortured without a focus on eroticism and that actually characterizes the children and basically every side character, and the next two most prominent female characters are an immortal 12 year old demon queen and a half elf who is biologically like 13, and where the primary love interest is respectful and doesnt unilaterally try to act on his attraction to the mc until he can actually be her peer.
Look, I read the manga for several volumes. When the title was mentioned in this thread I went back to where I left off to see why I stopped. On paper those things you said have... possibility? I guess? And in a story meant for a female audience might have gone somewhere interesting. But the reality is just cute nothing. I didn't say it was porn, but it IS a distinctly male catered fantasy. Some of the ways the daughters are shown and men treated them creeped me the hell out.

Ths is why I like it so much. Most Villianess Isekai have the MC be a "misunderstood girl". But Remi wasn't the isekai'd girl..she was the real Villianess and 100% could be cruel and scheming, but her heart was just swayed a bit due to wanting to protect her "Sister"
Remilia is 100% a villainess. Absolute war crimes level villainess.
If you read the WN, it comes out a lot more, including some of the side stories (that really should have been included in the main story arc)
In the non-Emi storyline, Remi destroyed the world because she wanted someone to love her and didn't get it.
in the Emi storyline, she found someone to love in Emi- but that Emi was taken from her.
Remilia hasn't changed- that's the thing most people don't seem to understand.

See, there's so many layers to Remilia, like
  • The Remilia that was changed by Emi's unconditional love
  • Remilia the "because that's what Emi would do"
  • Remilia the "save the world because that's a thing that needs to be done"
  • Remilia the "assemble the evidence to prove her innocence"
  • Remilia the "I want to create a place for Emi to return to whenever she wants."

But underneath it all, like a monster lurking beneath the water, Remilia the stone-cold villainess.
Remilia gathers up all the people that spoke false testimony during the condemnation event, crafted an underground torture basement, and created a magic where she tore their souls out of their bodies and stuffed them into other things. She was doing it because she wanted to capture Emi's soul and put that soul into something else, but that's torture disguised as human experimentation. An actual war crime lifted wholesale from WW2.
Also, the kingdom wanted to kill Pina, but Remilia forbade it exclusively because she wanted to torture Pina.
After Pina gets sent to the Rape Mines, Remilia specifically uses dream magic on Pina so that while Pina dreams she's getting everything she's ever wanted- when she wakes up, she's right back in the Rape Mines. She does this every day. And she keeps healing Pina over and over so she can't die.

Remilia "War Crimes" Graupner.

Doesn't change the fact that she's amazing as a character, but, you know, she is utterly ruthless. It's hard to see in the manga- or maybe it's easy to overlook- but her madness is always right there. She isn't a "misunderstood" girl. She's a demon. It's just she's Emi's demon.

Agreed. Just adding my 2 cents:

So my understanding of Remilia from the manga is that she's close to an anti-hero.
IF someone crosses her or harms someone she cares about then the revenge will be horryfing in a "there's no brakes on this pain train because i cut the brakes" kind of way.
BUT she does care about some people now. Of course Emi comes first, second and third and with anyone else she is cold&calculating first and foremost but it did feel like she at least somewhat cares for the villagers under her and some of the people she met. It's probably for the most part only because it makes her feel more in tune with Emi but it is there (imo) and it is a difference to before.

OG Remilia only cared about herself. She wanted the prince's love but only so she could feel better about herself. She didn't care about his feelings at all.
Emi's Remilia, no matter how evil she still is, would probably sacrifice herself to save Emi and constantly tries to do things Emi would like (even if it get's a bit twisted) because Emi is the only person she cares about more than herself.

The demon lord really knows how to restrain himself... He let her speak her mind more than anyone in existence can tolerate. If it were me, I'd have hit her with a frying pan after the first sentence
Just imagine Pina is the villain from that short.

the manga is just the fluffy half of book 1, not any of the main plot or how basically the only happy main characters are The Twins.

the book also directly states in Snow Day that the adventurers stuck in town are being affable with The Twins, not perverted. They are all aware of the little girl's life goals and want to see them achieve their life goal despite knowing that Shirley will rip out their kidneys if they attempt to help her daughters without her consent.

14 fucking pages of comments about how exciting to finally be at the moment where the EXECUTION will be enacted. It has only been posted yesterday.

At last.
All of the manga brings us to this.

Thank you for translating this chapter.
Needless to say, I am very eager to read the next one!

daaaaaaaaamn, at the begining I was afraid I wouldn't stomach it because of how cringe this would be but they managed to set this up in a way that made me cheer and burst out laughing with every single page.

Kudos to the author, I can't say I have many chapters that I think were perfect, but this one is definitely one of them!

So they didnt secretly apply the antidote, just straight up got everyone to drink it and told them what it was. Using the healing fruit made it too tempting to avoid, and checking is easy enough after the fact.
Looking at it again, i'm surprised that the capture targets didn't hold wine glasses either unless they were so dead inside that they didn't care anymore unless they had some of it beforehand but other than them looking defeated from the start, it would've been slightly more satisfying if they still had goo-goo eyes over Pina and acted smug towards everyone (despite their lives being ruined after meeting Pina) and then realizing that they were in some love potion/mind control haze

i cant wait for them to show everyone the recordings of pina giving people blowjobs and anals to keep hefself "pure".
Hilarious degenerate aside i wonder if that 'loophole' was just her own delusion versus her actually losing her power if she gave up her 'maidenhood' lol

One thing, lilim detox only affects those who drank the liquid, but these idiots aren't drinking anything, so i didn't quite understand the shock on their faces, as if something had finally hit them (in wn Pina and her potato sacks drink the lilim). Maybe the mangaka forgot to draw the drinks/panel where they serve themselves?

She's a piece of shit, but i love how crazy she is~lol

It is odd, though we know Remi can give ppl nightmares so it couldn't be that hard to sneak antidotes into their system earlier whether they drank at that point or not , though i'm surprised they would've even still had an affect if Pina ran out b/c Remi and the merchant 'cut off' Pina's supply unless they were too far gone/betrayed Remi at that point

You guys don't understand the aesthetics Pina is going for? Very well, I shall explain:

Magic Girl x Pure White Wedding Dress x Grandma's Night Cap x Cinderella's Evil Step Sister Poofy Dress x Card Captor's Wings

One of my favourite pages is 34. When everyone is looking stunned and shocked at the heroine's ever so gutsy proposal to the Demon King who she just met. Remi's 2 sponsors are looking amused and in desperate need of some popcorn and 3D glasses. <--That's us guys...ready for the real show to begin.
