I think the assassin is the maid. Knives are a maids thing, her eyes look dead, and when they were attacked in the carriage not only did she disappear she also was not shocked at all.
This story started with good potential...but got sloppy really fast. She gets accused of gambling...then decides to just enter a gambling den and gambles. Straight up has no awareness of danger (trusts the other guy extremely quickly) etc. The characters in this story just aren't really believable :/

Nah it's completely believable. She only barely believed she died. It's not something you can just get over or confirm on the first reset. She was convicted of gambling yes but its not like she was there to find proof. she was lead into the gambling den by someone getting kidnapped. Plus going there was actually a plus. She saw her sister there so now she knows how her name or account got set up in the casino.
