I think one of the big differences between a stalker and a fan is that former tries to intrude on someone's private life, and the latter only watches for the person's public life. That's obviously oversimplifying things, but this still felt more like someone repeatedly coming to watch a performer they like than anything else. The fact that she was willing to stop immediately if it made her uncomfortable was a big help.
