but similar traditions existed among men even during Stalin’s time and this shouldn’t have frightened or surprised him in any way.
He did his best to suppress them and was shown that his efforts were for naught, how did you expect him to react?
We're talking about manga and I mentioned manga artists, is it that hard?
We're talking about Youjo Senki, you're the one who generalized the thing to all mangaka in general.
And likewise, similar things (worse actually) still exist right now all over the world, so this shouldn’t have surprised you in any way.
Or are you just looking for a reason to fight?
Depend, was "that" post of yours meant to say that mangaka in general are homophobic? Because it's how I understood it.

Again, does the manga touch on this in any way? And why should he be scared and surprised by traditions that weren't supposed to be considered gay in his time?

Because in this case Youjo Senki is a manga, duh. I didn't generalize anyone and doesn't say that all manga artists are homophobic. Moreover, I never said anywhere that this surprises me or that manga is the only place where you can see this. You're already trying hard to find a reason to fight. If you don't stop tilting at windmills and looking for reasons to be offended by my words, then I will simply add you to ignore list and close this dialogue.

No but it clearly touched you considering your reaction.

Dunno, why would have he sent gay people (amongst many others) to gulag otherwise?

Please explain what you meant with the following statement you made then:
I just always find it funny when mangakas combine varying degrees of idealization of yuri bait and mocking of BL.
It clearly doesn't target Zen alone, even mangaka has an "s" denoting the plural form.
Moreover, I never said anywhere that this surprises me or that manga is the only place where you can see this. You're already trying hard to find a reason to fight. I'm just requesting clarification upon a statement you made and could be interpreted in many ways.

So he mistook Visha as the Devil of the Rhine?
I don't know what happens next, but their "goodbye" before the attack did raise a few "family photo scene" style death flags. But I doubt Zen will actually kill Visha or seriously hurt her. This time atleast.

Visha will ultimately lose, but will be saved by her wife at the last moment. 😤

Well, beautiful people, we're back (we never left, we've been releasing Youjo Senki chapters but only on our Patreon, we're up to chapter 97 haha). I know you've missed our beautiful translation and editing, and here we are again, hoping for your continued support, as we've always had.

Now, all jokes aside, I want to start by apologizing. At the time, I didn't take the hateful comments and, at the same time, the ones telling the truth about our translation very well. I lacked self-criticism, and from what people told me and my own ignorance, I thought the translations of Youjo Senki chapters 72 to 81 were good, but no, they were absolute garbage. A few months ago, we stopped working with that translator because the problem came from the translation from Japanese to Spanish. Currently, we're using the translation of Teniente X, who is a HUGE Youjo Senki fan, and I am certain that this time it’s done right.

I really hope you like this translation. I'd love to read the comments and see that you enjoy the series. I should clarify that I've already talked with RonRay (well, his girlfriend) and let her know that we'll be uploading Youjo Senki chapters again. Now, why did we stop doing it? It’s quite simple. I didn’t have the staff or the assurance that the translation was decent. Now, I do.

If any group wants to upload another version of this series, go ahead, I really don’t have any problem with that. And with the hate some people have for me, I don’t think my opinion will matter much either haha. I just want to say that, well, over time, the translation of those garbage chapters (72 to 81) will be changed, and we’re almost up to date with the latest Japanese chapter of Youjo Senki.

I'll leave the message in the comments as well in case they don't read the last image xd
Honestly, your translation is not any worse than the official translation. I'm getting the feeling that Youjo Senki is one of those stories that is really hard to translate - not that it is an easy task in the first place.
Keep up the good work!

Why do manga translation groups always have so much drama around around them...
For the same reason that people are willing to give you a long, tedious interrogation just because they misunderstood your comment. People love drama, especially if they don't have enough of their own in reality. It creates the illusion of life.

The readability of the chapter is much better with the reduction in hyphen usage. (y)

One thing that's not strictly an error but I think could flow better is the last panel of page 45. The uncle could use singular "they" to refer to Tanya. I think this makes much more sense than "he's" because the very next panel on page 46 they reveal the Devil of the Rhine's gender. This preserves the ambiguity of the original text in the first panel while also avoiding the weirdness of the guy saying one thing in English then the other.

I would say that we are planning to upload about 3 or 4 chapters per week until we reach episode 96. Those chapters are already ready; they just need to have the translation corrections made.
Will you guys eventually plan to upload more or is 96 your near final goal?
