It's fine..
compared to how the first prince ignoring her at the first place,
that head magician's evil smirk is totally FINE..
He's not a bad guy!
i'm sure, i hope, i wonder.

i'm honestly getting sick of this, i was hoping for her to get some revenge and move up in the world yet she forgave the prince instantly and only asked for access to the library as a reward and now she's going to school... where the hell is the story even heading?

I'm pretty sure Sei has NOT forgiven the prince. She forgave the king.

The main issue here is that after spending time here, Sei has met many very considerate and caring people. She's formed bonds with them-and consequentially with this world and kingdom. It would be unreasonably spiteful to hurt the country just because one guy from there is a jackass.

As for rewards...yeah, she could probably ask for more, but she's generally left in want of nothing and as an otherworlder, it's not like there's any grand ambition for her to pursue besides living a peaceful daily life. A little lacking in ambition, but people without drive or initiative exist in the real world too.

So will he try to use her power to grow his own? That smile was more 'evil intentions' than 'excitement about magic'.

@Riger Well yeah of course he will use her to grow his own power. Thats not an inherently malicious thing, thats just classic mage stuff. He wants to understand her power and use that knowledge to increase his own powers. This is simply progress as far as magical research is concerned.

Malicious would be trying to steal someone else's powers. He's not that type though since he's the scholar above all else. If he's going to do anything its going to be getting tunnel vision and pushing too far on what her magic can do or how they analyse it. Seduction might come into play if there is some mechanic or reason but i don't see one right now. Attempts to resurrect the dead or perform other forms of magic and see the results when using her specific power are more likely.

There might be attempts to mentally alter her to see if her magic changes, but you could do that with normal mages and achieve similar results.

Anyway evil is a pretty useless word when it comes down to it. The definitions is so loose that it basically comes down to what the person doesn't like.

How I precieve his smile

"It's a smile of a salty person"

A smile when someone got a ssr that you wanted so bad. 😏

First you analyze the magic, then you mimic the magic, then you used the mimic'd magic to implicate the original person in a murder.

I don't think there is any evil activity behind the head mage, but I just don't like him, couldn't tell you exactly why. I don't like him in the novel and I don't like him in the manga.

@primrosea

Don't be. This is good news because it means you're a prime isekai candidate.
Might wanna look both ways before crossing the street.

If anyone wants to read ahead. The novel is a out there. Its just a shame that translations have paused for now on that end. There's also a lot more background and sidestory info given from different perspectives in the novel. You would think that having an OP MC is generally a bad thing. But the approach that this story takes is much more from the learning and experimentation side of things. So having great powers doesn't mean you know how to use them right off the bat. The manga is doing a great job at adapting the novel too. There's some differences here and there but its following the same general premise.
