It really kind of is assimilation though, because whether she likes it or not she IS part of that 1% and has the options of either being mostly a recluse with no social life (what she was originally doing) or learning the customs of the 1% which she has found herself a part of (what she seems to be doing now).
She never truely had the option of living like a commoner: even before they found out she was the saintess, it was pretty clear that the aside from Prince Dumbass the kingdom personnel weren't going to have her just go and disappear. At the very least, she would have been a member of the Scholastic/Academic Social Caste given how quickly she meshed with the Researchers et all, which a super-majority of 'commoners' even today want nothing to do with and, it's clear, is STILL like the top 10%. Her personality would have led her back to them anyway, and with her breakthroughs she'd have still been expected to attend the noble affairs, which means learning the ways of the 1% even if she wasn't a part of them...
