It is bad to keep casually tell your identity, if the MC is totally dumb then it might be normal, but he is a "Scholar" 😑.
Im not saying that making an ally is bad thing, but rather than saying his true identity it's better to use thing such an alias. Even if you think that the person has no intention to betrayed you, but human is still human after all, people sometimes might got slipped some secret unconsciously.
Especially when the person is currently a "Stranger" for you.
It's not about trust issue but an anticipate.

For Example :

MC (terrorist leader): Hey dude, collaborate with me, i am terrorist and a leader.

Dude: oh yeah? Really? I am a huge fan of you. I will never betrayed you.

MC: Ok.

The dude goes to bar and get drunk

Dude: *drunked* hahahha im working with terrorist, an he his the leader that i put as my idol.
