I'm leaning away from a food allergy because of the red splotches that appear on her body. If it was just around her fingers and mouth, sure, but the implication is they can already everywhere. It's something environmental, which would of course work it's way into food she ate, but it would also explain why it doesn't affect her constantly.

It could also be ticks, I suppose....

One thing I really don't understand is how food allergies work for these kind of worlds, from what I've learned (and the little information we have truly on food allergies) it mostly seems like food allergies are generational PTSD from our bodies battling parasites way back when we didn't separate waste from our drinking source, therefore our bodies adapted over time to the parasites shenanigans but since we filter our water now our bodies start mistaking food and other stuff as parasites thus causing allergic reactions.

(now I'm only saying this because thats what I know from kurtzagart, if their information and research on the topic is mostly correct then what I'm saying should be mostly right but oversimplified about the reaction of the immune system. thus if not take this with a grain of salt as i could be wrong.)

Her symptoms aren't consistent with diabetes, so it's almost certainly something else.

For now, at least. If her diet doesn't change, then absent some kind of qi technique we aren't aware of, she may well develop it.
