Of course, but technically ants that big wouldn't be able to move at all. Look up the square-cube law. If we're suspending disbelief for huge insects, they should at least be accurate about the regular capabilities of that insect.

Also, he didn't say specifically that demon ants can't cross water, he made a generalization.
