Does not compute. If a group has the entire "gap" on their site as well as prior/post chapters , EVEN if only bulk/random/occasionally uploading, then it can ONLY be either an intentinal gap to MD, or gross negligence / incompetence, on the individual uploader's failure to include all the numbers in order while uploading.
as much as perhaps say the semi-plausible negligence or even incompetence of the uploader MIGHT be an answer, but intentinal is more probable, increase recordable traffic, ad rev, etc. which, if you look at say dark's uploading history among the sca shows lets say first glance, "return to player" has 117-160 gap [website has them], and "arcane sniper" 110-138 [website has them too].
so they exists on the groups own page. You have to what, randomly start on a chapter leaving a gap? Not filling them after being told by well-natured souls or even trolls, removes the "we didn't realize" reasoning.. going back to intentional creation of the gaps. being on/off MD isn't uncommon, handful of groups do this. Bulk uploads. When they 'come back' to MD, they do to the kindness of their souls upload ALL of the chapters in order without gaps to their series.
but then again, I suppose most if not all who read on MD knows this already and is nothing new. 😫
TLDR: just be honest about it or not respond, cause comments like that is just lack of creative reply! Please.

The reason they don't upload those is because the "missing chapters" that are on their site weren't translated by them, so uploading those as their own would get them hit for breaking the rules.

Cause this, seriously? not even a logical reply. even waiting/delaying during 'off' times, doesn't mean your chapters and work disappear. it would mean a bulk upload (if no gaps) as multiple other groups have done.
