To be honest, happen to be in similar situation...
After 9 years of relationship then due to tradition of certain culture that driven my SO into suicide and going into total avoidance of reality on the verge of joining her, meeting a stalker that found interest in me it did snapped me out and start to appreciate life once again... then after 4 years of bliss a whole lot of shit happened in next 2 years that bid us farewell with me going full depresso' espresso... so, yeah...

But back to the story, Haruno the childhood friend is some psycho for coming over cheerful and going together to school like nothing happened after rejection... jesus fucking christ...

Hoshimiya seems like wasn't telling the truth about her parents going on the business trip for a year now, looks like something similar happened to her as to Kuromine, maybe the change is a coping mechanism...

Store manager is, hot. Don't judge me...

I also don't like the "sexual violence" tag, comedy just doesn't fit here...

It feels like the pacing is kinda insane. He was firmly suicidal going into the conveni and drove a robber away with his resolve, but at the drop of a hat he's suddenly completely fine after hearing a girl from school telling him to live...? I can't tell if this is trying to be dark or light-hearted by how it casually mixes everything in a way that gives tonal whiplash. Pg. 28 depicts in one panel implied accidental homicide followed by double suicide.

And don't get me started with how the childhood friend treats her rejection of him like nothing happened.

There's a lot that feels off with this and the writing quality feels dubious, but it's also not boring. I actually wanna see where this goes even with this inconsistent, sometimes illogical and even insane way that things unfold.
So no excuse for the childhood friend but I’ve seen and read a lot of accounts of self deleting people stopping due to ONE person doing even the smallest kindness for them.

Matpat (game theory og host) told a story about in high school he literally just said good morning to the lonely kid in class everyday and on their graduation day the kid came and thanked him as that little good morning was the only thing that kept him from deleting himself.

The truth is most people just don’t wanna die.
