In Japanese, "yes" and "no" work different from English.
For example.
Is this Jack? -> Yes, this is Jack.
Is this not Jack? -> No, this isn't Jack.
But in Japanese:
Is this Jack -> Yes, [what you say is correct], this is Jack.
Is this not Jack? -> Yes, [what you say is correct], this isn't Jack.
So in this case. "You didn't get splashed, right?" -> "Yes, what you said is correct, I didn't get splashed". But something with the hug must have conveyed some other message that made Shirashi double check or something.
