Thank you so much for the final chapter! Really truly bittersweet, as others have said earlier :meguuusad: Their father-daughter relationship touched my heart, so glad I got to read this till the end, definitely going to binge re-read this soon!

I thought it was really sweet to see them “connected” at the end through the sunlight touching their palms… even if they never see each other again, they know they’re still connected no matter where they are in the world :,)

edit: also realized the final volume’s cover also alludes to this ending too 😭

Mmmmmm.... a little disappointed at the ending. It felt like there was supposed to be a little more to it, regarding the kids in her school, just something with more substance to it than this. It was surprisingly realistic in the very real consequences the detective faced, though. Everyone immediately thought the worst, and who can blame them.... but he'll move on, it seems.

At any rate I'm glad Gara's living it up at the very least.

Good read overall.

a great, heart wrenching series. i thought the twist was gonna be the reporter was shiori all along, or she was hiding in his car as drove away, but nope. never to meet again, at least not that well see. also poor gara separated from his found family too :meguuusad:

Thanks for the translation! I wonder what kind of life they could have led if they could spend years as father and daughter... Either way, glad they turned out alright now.

I'm so glad I was able to see this manga finally come to an end
I would like them to have reunited, I mean, how hard is it to send a letter?
I really enjoyed this series though and I look forward to reading this the whole way through

It makes sense, it seems that their lives are better, but we really don't know that for sure. Still, this could've ended way worse for them, yet the ending leaves a hopeful, but melancholic note. Shiori's pursuing her artistic passion, while Yamada finally had someone who understood him.

Hope the both of them are happy.

Even though the ending is realistic, for a fictional series we can't help but hope for more. This depiction is probaly how it would go in reality, but we pang for a happier end because we almost started to know both parties personally.
