In chapter 1 there's a black cat that appears when he's about to type out his retirement, and there's a closeup of it, black cats are considered to give good luck in japan, so how much good luck did that mf get from that kitty

How the fuck does this have an 8.3?

The writing is dogwater, and even contradictory. The girls completely break suspension of disbelief. The supporting cast are almost ALL creeps except his mother and people from the company he works for...

There freaking multiple rape-subplots that take away from the ONLY thing thats interesting which is the process of writing and creating a work, and the dumb girls who simp over him.

Mangadex really filled to the brim with coomers.

You know what's really funny? I bet 95% of people on Mangadex don't know who rates on Mangadex.
For example ordinary people i think cannot do this, some suggested that they take it from MAL but MAL has at the moment 6.7 while Mangaupdates 5.7.
Also please take a look at the comments the majority is negative. People point out obvious plot holes and bad storytelling.
For example how the childhood "friend"(that's not a friend) disses MC but turns 180^ when learns that he is the author.
Like it even isn't tiny bit close to real human interactions. Gold diggers are easy to spot once they insult you then turn 180^ when they learn you have something.

Author doesn't realise that you don't have to smart to understand that she ain't the girl people would "ship", yet despite all that author continues. Why does he do it? For self insert option, the part where his "friend" rejected him is real while everything after that is fiction and his wet dream.

Translations are up to chapter 36. It's been so-so so far. Just leaving a note for future me since there aren't any English chapters here.

Fairly hated one right here... But i like them this kind of trashy. No brain activity required for this to be read.

People complain about how this story is a self-insert or a wet-dream of the Author, but majority of Authors around the world are like that in real life.

Aka., they create a story by self-inserting themselves and then modify based on it.
Only few Authors don't use the self-insertion method. I mean, to visualise the story, the Author does have to adapt to their characters which does end up with characters taking authors quirks in some way.

Came after seeing a video about it, mostly from the top comment of "Finally, a Childhood friend that deserves to lose."
So far, mid at best. Arts pretty good, the designs are okay for the girls. But a very generic romcom harem wish fulfillment manga that you see. The writing is pretty bad. Honestly the only real hook it has is the Childhood friend being such an unlikable cunt that you want to see her get cucked once she realizes how much she fucked up. Like, it's not even that she didn't believe him it's just how completely dismissive she was on the initial confession. If she ends up forgiven and added to the harem that's basically it's death knell.

(Not a spoiler) Chapter 30: "You'll understand in a decade or two when all the work you've done now has paid off" is such a cruel and villainous statement lmfao. Just look at the sheer number of idols that ended themselves either during or after their careers. It's not at all the kind of career that leaves one psychologically sane or their lives fulfilled, at the very least not as worth it as people imagine it to be. I'm very sad that so many beautiful people just waste their entire existence on such a depressing path. Enjoy your youth if you can, it's all you have.

Only few Authors don't use the self-insertion method. I mean, to visualise the story, the Author does have to adapt to their characters which does end up with characters taking authors quirks in some way.
Most good authors don't insert themselves as the main heroes. They usually create background characters who have almost 0 impact towards the story.
Sometimes we don't even notice that, they may be an old man sitting on the crossroad or a mysterious god-like figure that doesn't interact with the world but simply observes and sometimes gives advice.

Bad authors usually self insert heavily, creating fantasy from their boring and mundane life. We are all capable of that if we put our minds to it. What's hard? Creating a story about other people with different personalities and great stories.
What's the secret? Observe and listen to other people and create stories from their stories.
Why it's usually better? In self-insert story you will never try to paint yourself as a bad guy or in unfavorable situation (usually), it will lack realism of life when sometimes you fail or make mistakes. When you write about other people as observer it's easier to be unbiased to create something of worth and interesting.

this is so trash, how can you be one of the top novelist if you have character personality like that, good guy without self personality after you get rejected and insulted by the very person that become your solely inspiration to keep writing. people around him just attracted to him because he's the top novelist, not because what he is as person, the bitch childhood friend have the audacity to confess to him after she know the fact that he was her idol all along, even badmouthing him over and over before the confession, the mother pushing the relationship between him and the childhood friend make it more stupid, i mean she's insulting your son dog, how can you feeding your son to that bitch, there are 4 better option.

People need to chill a little on the hate of his CHF lmao
You guys gotta remember she was originally in love with the MC when they were kids, it's just at some point she just got...used to his kindness and eventually shifted to using his webnovel as a coping mechanism for trauma.
So when the MC confesses to her all of a sudden, she thinks it's just a joke and makes some jokes at him, that is until he said he was the author of the novel she loves...to her, not believing him...it just comes off as her CHF trying to use something she holds dear to her heart as some made up BS to try to claw her back after she already declined him.
This is only natural, why would you believe your childhood friend you've known for 10 years is the number one author in the world and is the person who made the work you've been reading for years? You'd think he would have told her at some point?

Like yeah, she could have seen the signs looking back (seeing him happy every time she complimented the work), but that's only after the fact looking back....it's not like he ever TOLD her who he was, which is pretty much impossible unless he kept it a secret for whatever reason.
As for her being mean to the MC...honestly that's just a trope. This is pretty common for female childhood friends to be mean to them, I just view it as mostly friendly banter, kinda like how male friend groups often have people shit talking each other. I don't think she genuinely meant anything she said up until the point where she got really mad about him "pretending" to be the author of her favorite work.

Remember...this girls mother died shortly after birth, and her father literally abandoned her before she was even in elementary school....that means she basically raised herself along with the help of the MC and presumably his parents. That's a lot of trauma for a little kid to go through, I can give her a bit of a break for lashing out like that. It would have also helped if the MC proved he was the author when she asked him to prove it then and there, but instead of proving it in a verifiable way, dumbass just shows a word document as if anyone couldn't copy paste it....he could have proven it by making a tweet on the social media of the author and she would have believed him lmao

That being said, it's better than she rejected him there, because had he actually proven himself, she wouldn't have had so much character growth. Now she actually recognizes that she just got so used to him being around that she didn't really appreciate him for who he was and always has been. It's those reasons that she loves him, not just because he is the person who wrote the novels she loves.
