Well its worth noting that abuse can and will negatively impact one's sense of self, especially if you get thrust into a new, uncertain, and literal world-shaking event such as you know.. dying and being reborn and spending 2-3 years trapped in a body that can't speak or do anything autonomously. It would make sense to regress back into a "childish" state of mind.

Okay, read through this for the first time and I have to wonder why they are acting like children so much yet they keep on claiming that they are older internally. They aren't acting like reasonable adults at all. Some of it you can attribute to the abuse and the fact that they died as high school students not mature adults, but their ability to jump to conclusions and inability to communicate even the most basic of concerns is unbelievably frustrating for people who are suppose to be "grown ups on the inside".

What's more is they are horribly inconsistent... well Arien is at least. Arjen hasn't even been developed as a character at this point. He's mostly inconsequential. As for the inconsistent part, they don't believe anything anyone else has to say. they instantly doubt everything that has been said to them by their family. Instantly doubt the maids. You don't even trust the brother who you know is risking his life to protect you with a magic barrier, but they trust the words of Rosea instantly. A guy they have only meet twice. Why? Because he read it out of a book? Did you even think about confirming the contents of the book?

Again I could forgive some of these things if the characters in question were just abused children without any wold experience, but the author keeps bringing up their past life without giving any details other than they died "for reasons unknown". Were they abused in their past life as well? We don't know. It's never clarified. You have to assume so from their behavior. Even then it still doesn't explain why they instantly trust the words of a person they don't know over the person they know is sacrificing some of his life energy to protect them. "Yes they are just putting themselves in a compromising position where they feel ill and have to sleep all for their own amusement. Indeed, this must be the case".

I actually appreciate that they're acting like children, most often I see reincarnation tropes with the MCs acting like adults in children's bodies from the moment they realize it. Even though they have memories of a past life, it may add to their experience and noticing details more, but I don't think that makes them adults. Developmentally-wise, they still have the brains and bodies of children unless of course, undergoing manifestation also affects their mentality.

Well regardless, now we know our protagonists are just kids. Don't expect anything mature from them

I'm really surprised at the lack of worldliness in this comment section. Looks like you guys haven't met too many 20+ year olds. There are mature ones and immature ones. Myself in the first year of college was not only a total prick but an immature scumbag too. Trauma helped straighten me out but I had to hit rock bottom first (homeless, jobless, nearly died a couple times).

It seriously doesn't take much to create an immature person. It's mostly environmental but you can have bad personality traits too. Age does not magically create maturity. If that were the case then all boomers would make great parents. (hint: a lot of them don't.)

Coupled with the fact that they've been forced back into babyhood and then childhood...imo this author is doing well enough. "The body informs the mind" is what Eva always says and I think that's true in this case.

And they fell for the very obvious villains speech. Like you mistrust everyone but this kid you listen to everything he says. Why don't you question his motives too! Ugh.

I would be wondering how my father ended up with that woman cause clearly he can fall in love. So something obviously went wrong somewhere.

Ugh, I rolled my eyes seeing these two "reincarnators" with no consistency on their characters.

Some guy mentioned age does not magically create maturity. That's true, but experience does. And experience comes with age. I don't think these two lacks experience on how to think critically, considering they were 18 years old when they died.

I mean what is the point of being a reincarnator, if they don't bring any wisdom from their previous life.

Even someone of their age can fall for a trick like that. My sister always believes my mom will keep her promise and she's well over 30. Whereas, I am always skeptical and I am about 5yrs younger. Experience doesn't always mean we learn. Sometimes, it means wanting to believe otherwise.

im rereading this and guys they died when they were 18?
thats like the dumbest age of all im sorry
the only way you can be dumber than that is being 13 and that really doesn't flatter 18 year olds
most people learn experience in uni or staying in dorms and etc
they just died
also remember that they have undeveloped child brains?
i doubt they can actually use most of their intelligence
child brain+trauma+18 year of experience is like the worst combo

Saying they have low IQ is wrong
They have a child brain which will influence ones decisions and with constant abuse and trauma will impair their decisions

this author does a great job of depicting the after effects of abuse and displaying how the characters feel.

so for those haters here have you forgotten the abuse they went through? all the mental and physical scarring?
also it is called hope but it got crushed...
