@ManlyMan6545 I don't wish to argue either I said my opinion and felt it needed to be said, we obviously aren't going to agree and i'm not going to censor/delete it.
I prefer keeping things in the open where the rules are enforced rather than getting flamed in my inbox. If I broke a rule the mods can delete my stuff themselves.
I know most people will agree with you because they like getting translations, and i'm fine with being the one guy to stick up for the little guy getting hated on Instagram even if everybody else wants to tie him to a stake.

@ManlyMan6545 I don't think you understand something.
The reason they're actually angry is cuz from the Instagram posts, the artists and publishers that own the work are aware of these illegal translations, do some digging and thereby find the group that worked on it. Later they send the group mails of legal threats and so on and it becomes heartbreaking that the trust they had and hardwork put into each project sourly comes to an end. So please, don't be mad at the group, they're frustrated, tired and severely annoyed bcuz of these posts. They warned us b4 about them going in hiatus for this series over and over and over again if certain rules are broken. There's no need to complain. Wait for another group or go home or do ur own translation. Either way no one's even getting paid 😂.

I don’t get why people keep posting on instagram, this just increases the risk of the creators finding out about this translations. Especially when fan translations are mostly illegal if anyone doesn’t know...hais...it could bring serious consequences if they find out and if they want more translations, they should refrain from posting on public instagram accounts.. :( and none of this could be helped by the team whole translates this so none of it is their fault..

@ManlyMan6545

We are not putting their usernames there in hopes that our readers will witch hunt them. We are putting it there to show them, that we have noticed them, they are ignoring the big warning at the beginning of each chapter. We want them to stop. We want to show others an example of what not to do. Yes, we are calling them out, but they are putting a whole scanslation group at risk.

We do not wish to quit. We are merely going on hiatus with The Two Princesses. If we really wanted to quit, would we need to call these people out? They would be technically helping us quit if we wished to so badly. If the author notices it, it would give us a better reason to quit, no? We do not wish to quit, that's why we are calling them out.

Tetzukune's comment did not "reek of arrogance". Arrogant definition: having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. What part of her message reeked of arrogance? She did not make us sound more important than anyone, she stated facts. What "power" do we have? We didn't tell people to witch hunt. We aren't big-shot scanlators. There are many more scanslation groups that are way bigger than ours. "They think they can control everyone in the world" How many people are in the world? And how many readers do we have? I never knew the world was that small.

I was not originally going to say anything, but you are being rude to our staff. Yes, your opinion is different from a lot of people's here and you want to protect it, we get it. But some opinions are better left unsaid. Maybe some people are being slightly rude to you too, but they are only doing so because of your previous rude comment. Please tell me, what part of “Wonder if I post their other series on Instagram I could shut their whole group down, I don't read any of them anyway” is an “opinion”? It sounds more like a threat than an opinion.

We don't wish for our readers to fight each other, but if you are being rude, someone on the internet is bound to say something. Tetzukune was not rude to you. She simply said what she wished for you not to do. Unlike you, she did not insult you with any harsh words. Nobody here was “abusing” their power. Anyone can report anyone. She was telling you to take back the rude threat and apologize for insulting the staff that works extremely hard on all the chapters.  But, don’t they get the right to post what they want on the project that THEY own?

The people who posted our translations are not “innocent”. They have clearly decided to ignore the warning on the very first panel and posted our direct translations to the public. This is basically them begging for the author to find us.

Don't worry everyone!! Just because we are on hiatus, doesn't mean we won't work on it! We will most likely come out with a mass release when our hiatus ends <3

Well shit, it went on hiatus the day I decided to read and follow :|

I really hope the princess grows and becomes a better person, becuase I really don't want to hate a character that is clearly a big part of the story.

Ah, some punks just don't know how to be smart? Why would you even need to share the manhwa you're reading on social media? Who even does that? Is that supposed to make you look cool in front of your friends? It just makes you look like an idiot!

Also, I hope the real princess becomes a more likable character later on, but she seems too selfish as of this chapter. She's not completely rotten, but still rotten.

@Iryujonisuto Maybe it flies on MangaDex but on Reddit that would certainly be a ban-able offense. As I said you want to make an example of him. He posts dozens of manga, putting a series on haitus won't effect him, what will effect him is hundreds of people flaming him which is the obvious result of posting his name. It's an exploitation of your followers, not at all uncommon but still wrong.

I'm not going to split hairs over quiting vs taking a break etc. Haitus to me sounds like you don't really want to do it but don't want anybody else taking over either, maybe you want a break, you don't need an excuse. If you're truly just doing it to get people angry at the guy on Instagram (which is still don't buy) then its just an abuse of power like I said before. The only power your readers have over him is their ability to flame him

I felt it was pretty arrogant to tell me to delete my comment, bow down apologize and kiss her butt, acting like i'll be banned if I don't do what she says. I was half thinking that she might be able to do it, but I haven't gotten banned yet so must've just been flexing.

Not sure how I insulted her in my original comment, I implied they may want to quit, I said it was middle school crap to rally everyone against someone. Not an insult just because you don't like it, I specifically avoided insults because I didn't want to give an excuse to ban me.
She didn't like me implying someone should repost the other series, but that still wasn't an insult I was pointing out that its kind of ridiculous someone could take their whole group down in five minutes by their logic.
I was tougher in my second comment but by that point I was already angry she was trying to censor me acting like i'll be banned if I don't comply.

"Some opinions are better unsaid" I completely disagree, you have plenty of support so you can handle one person disagreeing with you. I'm not going to hide just because I know you don't want to hear it. Even if they don't admit it, somebody may see it and realize "Maybe we were kind of witch-hunting this guy, maybe we should censor their name next time". If not oh well, still valuable to know no everyone agrees with you, echo chambers are bad imo.
The repost comment wasn't a threat, again it was pointing out how ridiculous your philosophy is. A rival scanlator or someone who just doesn't like you could take your whole group down in five minutes.
You act as if you're punishing your fans but the person reposting doesn't even have to be a fan. If every group on MD had that logic then this site wouldn't exist. You can't prevent people reposting anymore than the original author. Witch-hunting won't actually stop anything and is wrong for a variety of other reasons.

Actually there are new rules against what you can post in credits pages on MD, but maybe witch hunting isn't one of them. Imo it should be though. I'll avoid going of on a tangent about you thinking you "own" the authors work, because it would be another paragraph.

@Meskie Another strawman, I've already said they don't need an excuse to take a haitus or stop translating all together. If they said they're stopping because they feel like it than I wouldn't be arguing. My issue is one that they blame their readers in general calling them "Punks", my bigger issue is they post a specific guys username and I was able to find his account immediately with a google search which is an obvious attempt to rally their followers against him. You say they warned "us" i'm not sure who "us" is i'm not a part of the hive mind, the fact people who have nothing to do with this are apologizing is ridiculous, borderline cult philosophy. You say they broke their "trust", they "trust" everybody in the world to never post any of their stuff? That's pretty delusional, I bet the author wishes he had that ability too. Again I've said it a dozen times if they're "frustrated" and worn out then they should stop instead of scape-goating some guy.

I highly recommend people to stop replying to this "manly man" because obviously they are not going to understand reasons, even after several explanations and the fact Korean publishers issuing cease and decease to fan translation groups after seeing all the hype on instagram, facebook, twitters etc about them translating without permission is real. At this rate, this thread likely would be locked down due to off-topic comments.

eh honestly i get where you're coming from, though i don't agree justifying the fact that they reposted although many groups have said not to do it either.

i won't say your opinion was wrong, but ngl if it were me i'd be prepared to face the consequences if i decided to repost something. again, an opinion.

@ManlyMan6545 u surely are serious with the antagonist role. Well whatever, no use crying over spilt milk. U're just making excuses and by 'warned us' , yes they did at every beginning of each chapter. Well no use talking to ya cuz ur unredeemable. Anyway, sorry for bothering to explain things to you. U hv ur opinion so no one should judge u for it, I guess 🤷.

Manly, there is surely a better way to say that you disagree with the group's methods. Here, I'll give an example:

Witch hunting someone is bad, even if the person being hunted did something distasteful. I think you should censor the names of the reposters in the future to avoid anyone going after the reposters.

In the meantime, I hope the hiatus won't be too long!

While you haven't broken any rules per se, it is heavily frowned upon to threaten anyone. There is a difference between criticizing a group's actions and harassing them by threatening to get the law brought down upon them.

Please do not make such threats again. Corrective action will follow if you do so.

Thanks,

@tetzukuune Are you trying to doxx me now? Is Dorchestra supposed to scare me? You drop their name and "digging" as if they're some big-shot super-hacker. That's about what I expected another abuse of power, continued attempts at intimidation, continued witch-hunting, continuing to prove all my points.
If I was a troll it would be obvious from my words, and you wouldn't be going through so much effort.
The reason you're doing so is because you know i'm making valid points and are afraid people will agree. Honestly they don't even have to read my comments, your own words are slowly revealing your nature and verifying my suspicions. As soon as I saw your credit page I recognized the standard "channer" raid tactics. Now we've moved on to the advanced channer doxx and take-down.
You also fail to state what information you have that verifies I'm a troll. My account isn't old, but that's because i'm aware of what you do to people who call you out as you've proven. There's another group that I called out for being petty and telling other groups they couldn't work on "their" series, but honestly they were nowhere near as bad as yours and I didn't get into any big thing with them.

@missmercurial Unfortunately they don't care when someone posts friendly advice like that. They'd just giggle and ignore it. They only care when someone comes in tough, shatters their echo chamber and calls them out hard. They live up on a big mountain away from the regular folk, so you have to shout loud if you want them to hear you. They see me as a really annoying ant they want to crush. Aside from that they have no problem calling their readers "punks" and trying to intimidate me in their comments, so I don't feel bad for being tough on them.

@Zephyrus I haven't threatened anything, as I've said repeatedly, my original example was a theoretical illustration of how ridiculous their policy was, not a threat. I also never said anything about informing"the law".
I was already aware when I choose to call them out that people wouldn't like it and would be looking for an excuse to ban me, so I've specifically avoided any threats, curse words, or direct insults.

You're more concerned with looking for a reason (in a comment from several days ago that I already told them wasn't a threat) to ban me despite not breaking an actual rule, then them posting someone's username in their credit page so they'll be harassed by hundreds of people on a different website. Rallying your followers to witch-hunt people who anger you like this is prohibited on every major website because it is certain to lead to cyber bullying and has historically caused suicides.
Yes, saying "This guy is the reason you won't be getting translations" is a very direct form of rallying your followers.

They already threatened to have me banned (and I already assumed they had pull with the site admins, as I said previously) so coming at me with increasingly more powerful people each day to repeat the same thing, acting like i'll be banned, i'll be doxxed, etc. to strong arm me isn't going to get me to delete my comments or stop criticizing them. Even if the President of the United States threatens to ban me, I won't change my opinion.
I'm not afraid, I'm willing to be a martyr to stand up and call them out.
They're clearly aware, based on their attitude, that their power and authority is all that matters here and they think they can smite anyone who criticizes them.
Silencing me isn't going to make what they did right and there will still be others who don't like it despite most of them being too scared to say anything because they think they'll get banned or the group will stop translating.
I may be a loud voice, but i'm far from the only voice.

You very clearly threatened to post more material on Instagram in order to get the group shut down.

zZuEqcH.png

That is indeed a threat. You can continue to argue if you want, I'm not going to engage any further on this topic. If I see it again, you'll be hit with a temp comment ban.

Some notes:
We are not scanlation groups' personal army. A report doesn't guarantee action will be taken. Corrective action is entirely at the discretion of staff.

Groups are not responsible for what their fans do. It would be very different if a group very plainly told their fans to go harass someone but that is not what happened here.

Making assumptions is what idiots do.

This applies to that same reader who reposted though. Unfortunately they also don't give a shit about friendly advice, so this happens. I don't even understand what you're trying to defend anymore.

If you were gonna do something you've been told not to (this counts even if you don't give a shit about what it's about and what's gonna happen next) you better be prepared for it. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say who's right and who isn't. I just think that if you've decided to do something, you better prepare for what comes next. It was his/her choice to repost. Yes, "the series doesn't belong to the group", but even so backlash is to be expected no matter what you think of it.
