Even if they decide to throw away their masks, the fact that they still will be performing in front of an audience will not change. Goffman said it best, we're all actors on a stage and the actor's true self is something that can only be known by the actor themselves, behind the stage. In this case, it's much more exaggerated due to them being idols and being held to such unrealistic standards.
