The MC isn't an idiot. The majority of people commenting that he is one are the idiots. Yes he's strong but he has ZERO reason to assume that. He's still going off game knowledge, a lot of which is not widely known apparently. The skill the examiner used is one that his game knowledge tells him leave one open to a counter attack, so he assumed it was a deliberate opening to "go easy" on him, even though the examiner meant to to be a finishing blow.

If swordmaster who spend his entire life honing his skill decided to join the guild, his start at rank F, but that doesn't mean he is weak... ah, if only manga author put more thought on writing the adventurer rank system.

I like the receptionist. She's refreshing compared to the usual ones in similar manga. She's actually not trying to pamper the MC but is instead pushing him more toward jobs suitable for his real level of power.

However, the world is ridiculous.

@HomeSlice He does, but on the other hand, he's cautious, doesn't trust first impressions, doesn't imagine his game knowledge matches the new world perfectly, and so forth, which is very logical for one in his shoes. In fact the world itself is so strange that I can't even blame him for some of his stupidity. If a serious looking opponent acts like a fool, it's more logical to believe there's an understandable reason for it, not that there's some incomprehensible natural law making the person act so.

The whole "the world is weaker than from my previous life" trope is a bit uninspiring. I hope there is at least some rationalization, even if it's the usual "they can't grow because they can't respawn". The concept of a gamer knowing more about abilities than the inhabitants of the world is interesting since in the game you're focused on min-maxing without any threat to your actual life. Plus you would know the exact parameters for almost all abilities, especially being one of the top players. Rather than see it in black and white, the people of the world would have to run tests.

well that what happens when some like mc confuses real word with that vr game he played,he forgot to think that in vr game the wolf is rank f because he fcking played an online game so there where players in that game,but in this world that is real and people can die for real and npc that are real people can die and dont have the same skills like those players in that video game,like didn't mc tried to use auto dismantling on that wolf and didn't work but he used clean on the fangs and it work cuz that was magic,so that means there is no auto dismantling and you need to do dismantling in the old fashioned way like to do it yourself,thats why i think mc is really dumb sure is similar to the vr game,but that's it now that world is real life so not every information from that vr game gonna work,but well this a manga so it's not the first time when an author didn't follow common sense,but still mc is kinda dumb i hope he wake up or something.

more like dumb,he tried auto dismantling a monster cuz that was possible in that vr game he played he forgot that in the real life dismantling a wolf adventures use a knife,i hope he gets better
